The Cutrera family has been devoted to olive tree cultivation and extra virgin olive oil production for many generations. Their passion for their land has been evident in their work for over a century. In 1906, the family was already focused on the care and cultivation of olive trees in Chiaramonte Gulfi, a small village in Sicily. Giovanni Cutrera, with the assistance of his wife Maria, established the first oil mill in 1979. Their children, Maria, Giusy, and Salvatore, later joined the family business. In 1999, the family decided to open a second mill and expand their market beyond the local area. Since 2000, Maria, Giusy, and Salvatore have managed the business with their spouses, embracing a mix of tradition and innovation that has led to their success.

While the company is now managed by the third generation, the principles, values, and knowledge passed down from Giovanni and Maria continue to be upheld. Frantoi Cutrera currently operates two plants with three extraction lines. Their Primo DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a top-quality product, made from the early green harvest of the Tonda Iblea 100% variety, grown in certified olive tree groves in the Monti Iblei. The olives are hand-harvested and cold-pressed within hours, resulting in a brilliant green oil with golden reflections.
